Mail Call: Shrek The Third and Hot Rod
When I started working in the music industry about three years ago (I’m a baby, I know) I used to get a TON of CDs. Pretty much every new major release passed across my desk, at least briefly. Now, in the digital era I hardly get any physical CDs. Quite a few labels have jumped on the digital advance bandwagon. Usually I get an e-mail telling me that a new stream is available for me to listen to or new mp3s are available to download. It’s simple, it doesn’t take up any space on my desk and I know it saves the label (cough, cough: artist) a ton of money on free copies, packaging and mailing. I can dig it but I miss ripping open a package and owning a physical copy of a great album.
Anyway, while the music industry has cut back the DVD industry is in full swing, especially in the holiday season. Check out some of the cool stuff I’ve gotten so far this week.

The Hot Rod DVD came with a t-shirt in packaging so dope I’m scared to open it and a fake mustache.
